Dom Pérignon by Moet

Dom Pérignon was the first prestige cuvee.

being produced in1921 it was only released for sale in 1936 due to the great depression, no doubt that aging made it an exceptional vintage.

Dom Pérignon is a quality vintage champagne. When a champagne is described as vintage old chap it means that it’s made only in the best years, with all grpaes used being harvested in the same year.

Many champagnes in the common market are by contrast non-vintage where grapes are mixed and taken from harvests of differing years.

Dom Perignon 2000 Vintage

The team at Moet combined 55% Chardonnay for its fresh fruity flavour and structure with 45% Pinot Noir, naturally chosen to add weight and a complete richness.

Dom Perignon 2000 offers flavours of Acacia honey and fresh roasted almonds on the nose whilst delicate dried apricots and toasted brioche combine together for a ‘biscuity’’ finish.

Dom Perignon Rosé

The colour is gorgeous pale salmon pink, gentle persistent bubbles leading to a fine mousse, light strawberry and cherry fruit, a wee bit gamey with just a hint of fine yeasty biscuits. The rose has nicely integrated flavours and long fresh finish.

Dom Perignon Oenotheque is an truley awesome Champagne. Its secret lies in the exceptional duration of the wine’s aging, its kep back by the chef de cave who only releases it when he / she feels its ready for release. Dom Perignon 1995 was released in 2000.

The extra 7 years in the champagne cellar allow Dom Perignon 1995 to surpass itself, enabling it to join Dom Perignon Oenotheque. It is the ultimate expression of a wine whose style defies time!
